The Health Information Technology Certified Manager for Physicians Practice (HITCM-PP) is the only nationally recognized professional certification specific to technology skills and knowledge for practice management within solo provider and small group physician practices. The exam is not easy and neither is the profession. As an HITCM-PP, you can be proud of your achievements and the information on this page will help you confirm, verify, and maintain your professional credential.

Confirm Your HITCM-PP

Every member HITCM-PP must meet ALL THREE criteria:

  • You passed the HITCM-PP Exam

  • You have maintained continuous HIT VIP membership (monthly subscription)

  • You have recertified each period on schedule

If you do not meet all three criteria, you are not a member HITCM-PP, even if you have found a backdoor to the HITCM-PP VIP page, you still must meet all three criteria. Contact us if you need assistance.


Verify Your HITCM-PP

Here are four ways you can verify your own HITCM-PP status:

  • Members MUST submit CEUs annually in order to recertify. Non-members must retest annually.

  • Are you able to successfully view both this page AND the HITCM-PP VIP page? If so, you’re doing great! Keep logging your CEUs and remember to submit them annually.

  • Additional verification of your HITCM-PP can be found in your member account HITCM-PP recertification due date.

If you no longer have a printed paper certificate from PAHCOM, you are encouraged to order a HITCM-PP Congratulations Package which includes a paper certificate for framing and/or distribution to prospective employers. The HITCM-PP Congratulations Package also includes a new HITCM-PP Lapel Pin and An HITCM-PP sticker while supplies last!

If your current or prospective employer needs verification of your credentials, send them to the Verify HITCM-PP Status form designed for 3rd party use. You might also consider sending them a PDF version certificate.


Maintain Your HITCM-PP

Here are two requirements to maintain your member HITCM-PP status:

  • Recertification requires a minimum of 12 CEUs be submitted every 12 months.

  • Continuous physician/admin membership in PAHCOM is required for members utilizing recertification via CEUs vs. retesting. Failure to maintain continuous membership will result in decertification. Certified members wishing to convert to non-member certification must retest at the time of conversion.
