Tribal Outreach and Advocacy

The Northwest Regional Council (NWRC) is an Area Agency on Aging that provides human services to improve the quality of life for elders and caregivers. This webinar will focus on NWRC’s Tribal Program, which connects six local tribes in Whatcom and Skagit Counties with information and assistance.

Objectives:

  • Highlight the culturally appropriate services that NWRC’s Tribal Program provides to elders who require personal care and other assistance at home

  • Describe the technical assistance that NWRC offers to help tribes plan and coordinate services and resources that address the need for LTSS, Medicaid, and dementia support

  • Explain how NWRC provides support to elders and caregivers in tribal communities

  • Discuss the information and statistics that NWRC shares with tribal leadership to help enhance policies and programs and better serve the aging population
