Welcome to the PAHCOM Academic Credentialing Program. Your school has negotiated free full membership for you in the Professional Association of Health Care Office Management (PAHCOM). Your membership type is exactly the same level that industry physicians and medical managers enjoy. This program gives you an advantage when entering the workforce as you will already be familiar with navigating industry networks and finding accurate information when your medical practice needs it most.

About free membership: Even though your membership is free, you go through the process to join like the industry members do. Your free membership will expire one year after graduation. Note that free membership is for actively enrolled students and graduates only. When your free period ends, you will be given the option to join PAHCOM, but you will NOT be automatically charged for anything.
Students will join one membership:
Physicians and administrative leadership (physician/admin)
Your discount code identifies you as a UMA student and allows you to join for free. You MUST use this code to gain free membership.

Step 2
You must have the Study Guide. Check with your course instructor if you don’t already have a copy.
The full title of the book is Health Care Management for Physician Practices and Ambulatory Health Service Organizations: Overview and Study Guide.
Step 3
Prepare for your PAHCOM Project. Each student is required to complete the project prior to graduation. Ask your instructor about the project you’ll be assigned so that you can start planning your assignment and stay ahead of the curve. Plan for success!

Engage with the industry! Even though you’re not in the workforce yet, you are encouraged to consider how you might utilize industry networks and services to your advantage once you graduate.

CMM-A to CMM conversion
Two (2) years of healthcare industry experience accrued within four (4) years of passing the CMM exam. Must be in support of patient care, as in a medical practice or other clinical environment. Conversion from CMM-A to CMM is a free service from PAHCOM.
As a CMM-A, you must recertify just as the industry CMMs do. Recertification is required each year so it makes sense to make time for continuing education. The Education Calendar often provides free webinar training and all are approved CEUs. Navigate to the Education calendar once you have joined PAHCOM.
There is no fee to convert from CMM-A to CMM.
